New Music: Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent & Bow Wow

Here are a few new hot tracks to bump this weekend:

Lil Wayne follows up his weak Grammy performance with some hot new music for DJ Clue of Power 105.1.  Grab a bottle and celebrate! #YMCMB

Lil Wayne – Celebrate

Earlier this week, Wiz dropped “Work Hard, Play Hard,” the first single from his sophomore album, “O.N.I.F.C.” The track was produced by Stargate (“Black and Yellow”) and Benny Bianco. It’s clear Wiz’s hometown (Pittsburgh) is where people work hard and play hard. If this isn’t your anthem this weekend, you ain’t on your grind!

Wiz Khalifa – Work Hard, Play Hard

50 Cent is getting ready to drop an upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape, The Lost Tape, with DJ Drama. There’s no doubt that this hot new track with Snoop & Precious Paris will be one of the best!

50 Cent – Remain Calm (Feat. Snoop Dogg & Precious Paris)

And last but certainly not least, Bow Wow releases his latest single from Underrated. With a feature from T-Pain, you can’t go wrong. #Underrated June 12th.

New Music Video: Snoop Dogg – Stoner’s Anthem

Happy Holidaze people!  In honor of 4/20 the top OG pothead of hip-hop Snoop Dogg has dropped a brand new video for his jam Stoner’s Anthem.  It seemed appropriate to drop this type of video today, as Snoop pays homage to one of his favorite recreational activities.  Below is a first-edit of the video that was dropped for a sec before re-released in the final version above.  Check it out if you’re into that sort of thing.

New Videos: Hologram 2Pac Performs w/ Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre at Coachella

To say that this video gave me chills would be the understatement of the century.  It’s honestly amazing the technology we have today to make something like this possible.  Coachella certainly seemed off the hook.  You can cause enough of a stir with Dre and Snoop on stage but if you can make it seem like Tupac Shakur can take the stage with them I can’t imagine the electricity pumping through the crowd.  Utterly incredible performance.

UPDATE:  Here’s an extended video of the performance.

Event Recap: Snoop Dogg @ The Pickle Barrel Nightclub – Killington, VT

After the cancellation of SnowMont, Snoop still decided to swing through Killington and pay a visit to the Pickle Barrel Nightclub in Killington, VT to treat Vermonters to two shows.  To anyone unfamiliar the Pickle Barrel is a pretty small venue so it is awesome to see that Snoop enjoys coming back to pay this small resort town a visit.  The early show wasn’t even sold out until an hour or so before Snoop took the stage.  Word has it that when a bouncer tried to kick someone out for lighting up, Snoop stopped the show and vetoed that situation much to the crowds enjoyment.

The late show was bumping and Snoop was lookin fly as hell with the green adidas jumpsuit and rasta hat.  His intro and the dancers got the crowd hyped as hell, too.  Check it out below!

New Mixtape: Wiz Khalifa – Taylor Allderdice

Wiz Khalifa drops his first mixtape in over a year titled the same as his hometown Pittsburgh high school, Taylor Allderdice.  This has been quite an anticipated project for awhile.  Wiz released his first major label record last year titled Rolling Papers and collaborated with Snoop Dogg on the Mac & Devin Go To High School soundtrack. Wiz has yet to release a free mixtape for the streets since February 2011, when he dropped Cabin Fever in preparation for his debut album.  Wiz has also recently lamented on his album Rolling Papers in an open letter to his fans via his tumblr account and promised that this is the most excited he has been for a mixtape (Taylor Allderdice) and album (O.N.I.F.C.) in a long time.

Album Review – Snoop Dogg “Doggumentary”

Snoop Dogg is one of the most well-known pop culture icons in the world. He has released over 10 albums, beginning in 1993 with the classic album, Doggystyle. For his 11th studio album, Snoop originally stated that it would be titled Doggystyle 2 and would be a sequel to the original. After completing the album, Snoop decided to change the name of the album toDoggumentary, partly because the album did not reflect that old school style like he previously thought. Doggumentary is more of a reflection of Snoop’s life as a whole, with different styles and sounds. As Snoop tries to take us through his career, the album is a bit inconsistent. It is filled with mediocre tracks but Snoop also brings the heat with “Boom” and “The Way Life Use To Be”.  The album, just like Snoop’s career is full of ups and downs, with signs of the OG. Overall, the album is more pop friendly and less gansta, which is a disappointment for more hardcore Snoop fans. The album works for what it is, a toned down more marketable collection. Unfortunately, we will still have to wait for the day Snoop returns to his West Coast roots! B-
