Big K.R.I.T. Announces Release Date for Debut Album ‘Live From The Underground’

The hottest up and coming southern rapper in quite a long time has just tweeted that he will be releasing his much-anticipated debut LP Live From the Underground on June 5th, just in time to bang some smooth country southern beats for the summer!

New Music: Nicki Minaj, Drake, Big K.R.I.T., Obie Trice, Eminem, J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, & MORE!

Trying to keep pace with he never ending flood of new music isn’t easy, but it must be done!  Nicki Minaj has been dropping music this week in anticipation for her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded which is set to release on April 2nd.  Her newest single features Chris Brown and will surely be all over the radio soon enough.  The other track she’s dropped features the one and only 2 Chainz!  This track is much more raw and Nicki gets back to rapping.  A much more “urban” song as the wikipedia page refers to the single.  Regardless, I doubt you’ll be hearing this track on the radio anytime soon.  These tracks are stream only but will be available on iTunes for purchase very soon.

Next up, Big K.R.I.T. continuing to do what he does and that is drop awesome new music for free.  Fresh off of releasing his new mixtape and having a verse in David Banner’s song last week, he’s back with a single called I Got This Here that he released via his SoundCloud page.  No saying what project this will be on if any or if it is his lead single off of his debut album.  Only time will tell.

Earlier this week we posted a video of Drake kicking a freestyle for his GQ magazine cover shoot.  In case you missed that, cop it now!

Obie Trice recently dropped a mixtape titled Watch the Chrome and is soon releasing his new album Bottoms Up and we now have likely the most anticipated track on the album, Richard featuring Eminem!  Preorder Bottoms Up on iTunes, this song is stream only.

J. Cole has been droppin songs here and there lately and I can’t say I hate it!  This dude always makes quality music and has ridiculous rhymes  and proved it with his hit debut album Cole World: A Sideline Story.  This time he’s going in on Kirko Bangz’ hit Drank In My Cup.

Swizz Beatz has a mixtape coming out soon that has the internet buzzing at the high amount of talent he has recruited for the project.  The first leak is here and it is a banger. A$AP Rocky goes in on this beat created by the MVP of the MPC araabMUZIK.

This next track comes from DJ Haze who has recruited Joell Ortiz, Cassidy, Nipsey Hussle, & Dro Pesci for his lead single from his new project The Color Purple set to drop on March 26th.  Check out this track called Coast 2 Coast.

Finally I got one last track from Dorrough Music for his remix of his song That Lowend.  He recruited some dope rappers for this one!

New Music Video: Big K.R.I.T. – Boobie Miles

New video for KRIT’s incredibly smooth and deep track Boobie Miles off of his mixtape 4eva N a Day which dropped earlier this week.  The mixtape as a whole is pretty incredible.  This video is the perfect fit for the song with the usage of black and white and slow motion shots.

New Mixtape: Big KRIT – 4eva N a Day

New mixtape from one of the hottest younger MCs from the South right now.  Big KRIT was a 2011 XXL Freshman Class member and spent last year dropping incredible mixtapes with smooth, laid back instrumentals and the lyrics to  match.  Listening to this really is a flashback to the country southern rapper greats of all-time.  KRIT is truly a on the path towards being a true southern hip-hop legend and the anticipation for a debut  full length LP grows even more.  Until then, we enjoy the incredible original music KRIT continues to release to the fans for free.  I don’t see any hip-hop fan having a problem with that at all.

XXL Announces 2012 Freshman Class Cover

XXL has released their annual Freshman Class cover showcasing the hottest up and coming youngsters in hip hop. This year’s class includes:

  • Future
  • Roscoe Dash
  • Kid Ink
  • Machine Gun Kelly
  • Danny Brown
  • French Montana
  • Macklemore
  • Don Trip
  • Hopsin
  • Iggy Azalea

Although this list doesn’t guarantee the success of these youngsters (Lil B, OJ da Juiceman) it does put them with likes of such successful acts as J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Nipsey Hussle (2010 Class members), Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Lil Twist, Kenderick Lamar, Diggy Simmons, Meek Mill, & Big KRIT (2011 Class members).  You may notice the absence of ASAP Rocky, possibly the biggest new name in hip hop.  Well, that seems to be his own doing.  Keep and eye out for the XXL 2012 Freshman Class Mixtape and until then bump the 2011 and 2010 tapes.  There has already been tons of critical response to this list; both positive and negative.  What do y’all think?
