New Music: Jetpack Jones – LKWD
Jetpack Jones keeps it real with his latest offering, “LKWD”, an ode to his hometown of Lakewood, California. Every line paints of picture in the life of an aspiring and talented independent artist.
“‘LKWD’ stands for Lakewood [California], which is where I’m from. Rather than tell you about the city, I decided to convey the feelings that I associate with Lakewood instead. The lyrics paint a picture of starting from scratch in your hometown and working with close friends in order to get out and see the world. This song is meant to motivate and inspire, especially for those who are from places that have not yet been put on the map.”

New Music Video: Bassnectar feat. Lupe Fiasco – Vava Voom
If there’s a genre of the moment that meshes quite well with hip-hop it has to be electronic music. Case and point: this new song and video from dubstep artist Bassnectar linking up with Lupe Fiasco to create an absolute banger! Lupe is no stranger to this genre either, he released a mixtape back in November full of dope verses over intense electronic tracks including work from Bassnectar. Great to see they have linked back up and continue to work together. This video may possibly melt your face so be warned in advance.

Wiz Khalifa drops a new video for his song Brainstorm off of his mixtape Taylor Allderdice that dropped last week. Wiz’s newest mixtape hasn’t even been available for a week and it has already been downloaded over 750,000 times on datpiff earning it a double-platinum title. This makes Wiz the only artist on that site with 3 mixtapes having that title.

The always original Futuristic is back with a funky new video that I had to post. We posted a video of his a little while back that first caught our attention to this dude. This song I Got Sauce is off the chain. This dude has some funny punch lines and lyrics. Keep an eye on this cat he might just be what’s on next.

K.R.I.T. talks about his new mixtape 4eva N a Day and also discusses his album being pushed back and how he intends not to let that happen again. He also discusses that very soon he will be releasing a mixtape with his “country cousin” and Shady 2.0 rapper Yelawolf that will be produced K.R.I.T. him as well. This will surely be a project to keep an eye out for.
